Our Donor Wall of Honor is a public expression of gratitude to those whose contributions assist the Foundation in fulfilling our mission of supporting excellence in wellness and health care. The Donor Wall of Honor visually expresses the cumulative giving of the Friends of Riverview since 1984, the year Aspirus Riverview Foundation was chartered.
Individuals, foundations or corporations making gifts to Aspirus Riverview Foundation are recognized with plaques on our Donor Wall of Honor. Donors making gifts of $1,000 or greater are eligible for a plaque. The size of the plaque varies depending on the amount of the gift. Plaques are upgraded as the cumulative amount a donor gives increases. Individuals making a gift in memory of a loved one can have a plaque on the Donor Wall of Honor in memory of the person for whom the gift is made.
The inscribed blocks will change in wood type or size as cumulative gift totals increase. The categories of giving and corresponding wood types and sizes are as follows:

Grant Request Application
A spokesperson for the requesting organization will be asked to attend the board meeting to answer any questions regarding the request. You will be informed of the disposition of your request within one week of the board meeting.
For Riverview employees making grant requests for hospital programs, projects or equipment, the same procedure is followed, except that the employee must use the "Hospital Grant Request" form.
July 1982: A special study committee was appointed to research and determine if a Deferred Giving program should be formally established to seek and hold funds to meet the predicted changing and costly health care needs in our community. Members of this committee included: Phyllis Huffman, John Melsen, Daniel Meyer, Morgan Midthun, Terry Norris and LeRoy Sigler.
July 1982 to January 1984: Nearly two years of research was carried out by the Deferred Giving Committee, including meetings with existing hospital foundations, development professionals and legal consultants to determine a direction for Riverview.
January 1984: A recommendation to establish an uncontrolled foundation was made by Deferred Giving Committee Chairman LeRoy Sigler to the hospital board. According to the report, the proposed foundation “would be flexible enough to respond to changing needs that would benefit the hospital.” In reviewing the purposes of a separate foundation, Sigler noted that a foundation has greater visibility in the community for charitable contributions and encourages donations by ensuring funds will meet donor wishes when they are controlled by a separate foundation board.
June 1984: Riverview Health Care Foundation, Inc,. was adopted for the Foundation’s name. This name clarified its affiliation with the hospital but also indicated a separate identity.
August 1984: The bylaws and articles of incorporation were drawn and documents were filed with the state of Wisconsin on August 9, 1984.
June 1985: Federal income tax status—501(c)(3) under section 509(a)(3)—was received from the Internal Revenue Service.
August 2015: Aspirus Riverview Foundation, Inc,. was adopted for the Foundation’s name. This name clarified its affiliation with Aspirus, but also indicated a separate identity.
The above briefly highlights how the Aspirus Riverview Foundation began. We continue to help meet the growing need for excellence in wellness and health care among those in our community.
